Walk/Roll The Camino With Us!
In June 2024, we're heading back to Spain for another round of I'll Push You Accessible Camino Group Trips led by Justin Skeesuck and Patrick Gray of the award-winning book and film, I'll Push You.
GROUP ONE
French Way: June 6-14, 2024
GROUP TWO
Portuguese Way: June 19-27, 2024
A Once-in-a-Lifetime Opportunity
The Camino de Santiago pilgrimage is many things to many people — an opportunity to learn more about one's self, a journey filled with raw human connection, or a time to face who we are vs. who we want to be. Regardless, we know firsthand that it's life-changing.
The Camino isn't known for its accessibility, but many with physical limitations have taken it on. The task is daunting, but nothing is impossible, especially when you have others at your side.
Join us on this incredible journey as we walk/roll with you for the last 100 km (or so) over six days, enjoying nightly dinners as a community and experiencing all the Camino has to offer!
You're In Good Hands!
We have partnered with Tee Travel. Based in Santiago de Compostela, they are Spain's PREMIER Camino-centric travel agency and have been guiding pilgrims on the Camino since 2001! They will provide us with incredible guides and help us with logistics. Additionally, Patrick and Justin will be walking/rolling with you!
The Routes
We chose the last 100 km of the Camino because it gives us the flexibility to manage accessibility needs while ensuring you get your Compostela (official certificate of completion). We have TWO routes for you to choose from. During your application process, let us know which route you would like to join.
JUNE 6-14, 2024
The French Way
We will be starting in Sarria and ending in Santiago de Compostela.
JUNE 19-27, 2024
The Portuguese Way
We will be starting in Vigo and ending in Santiago de Compostela.
What's Included:
To guarantee this journey is memorable, we've included everything we can think of to make it an experience of a lifetime!
Accommodations
Lodging for 8 nights is included in this package. We have secured both accessible and non-accessible rooms. Any additional nights will be your responsibility.
Daily Breakfast
Each morning, we will gather for breakfast, enjoy incredible Spanish coffee, and talk about the plan for the day. After we eat, we will transfer to the day's starting point.
Nightly Dinners
Each night, we will be eating together as a community. We will dine at the hotel and several restaurants during our time together.
Daily Transfers
Transportation to and from the trail each day is covered. We have accessible and non-accessible vehicles reserved for the entire journey.
English-Speaking
Camino Guides
There is so much to take in along the Camino. We have world-class English-speaking guides who will help us understand the history.
Your Pilgrim's
Passport
As we travel from town to town, we will need stamps for proof of travel. We will provide you with a pilgrim's passport to collect these stamps.
Your Camino
Compostela
A Compostela is a document that demonstrates you finished the journey. You will receive this once we complete our Camino.
Support
Transportation
We will have support transportation available should anyone not be able to walk/roll an entire day and for emergent situations.
What's NOT Included:
We want to make sure we are clear regarding what's NOT included in the group offering. Please see below.
Airfare/Transportation
Airfare/transportation to Santiago is not included. You can use whatever means you like to book your travel and will pay for this separately.
Tips/Gratuities
Please make sure you bring cash to tip our guides, film crew, and your servers. Tips and gratuities are your responsibility.
Lunches/Snacks
As we walk each day, it is important to stay fueled and hydrated. Your lunches and snack are your responsibility.
Beverages*
Spain has some great wine and beer. Any alcoholic beverages you want are not covered, so make sure you plan accordingly.
Shopping/Souvenirs
People often buy souvenirs for themselves or loved ones back home. Any shopping is up to you to cover.
Any Extra Travel
If you choose to travel outside of the days outlined above, you will need to pay for it beyond the monies required for this trip.
*Note: Some of our dinners include beverages like soda and wine.
What's The Group Size?
We have a total of 50 spots per date range, with a total of five wheelchair spots per group and room for others with various disabilities. We aim for at least a 6:1 ratio of helpers to those needing assistance. Each group's makeup depends upon who applies, and we will prioritize individuals who need assistance and their helpers. The remaining slots will be given to those who want to help.
Can I Go If I Just Want To Help?
Absolutely! During the application process, let us know your intention of coming to help where needed. However, we will give priority to family and friends of disabled individuals who need help.
What Type Of Wheelchair Do You Require?
You will need a MANUAL or push wheelchair. Due to the nature of the trail, the availability of electricity, and the need for lightweight wheelchairs, we require individuals who use wheelchairs to bring a manual chair. We can discuss options when we interview you.
What If I DON'T Have A Manual Wheelchair?
If you do not have a manual wheelchair, don't let that deter you. We can help you get one at little to no cost! Just let us know during the interview process, and we will connect you with those who can help.
We're Also Including
